.RPS makes an extremely strong pressure plate for very high HP cars that will still hold the power with a single disc. These high clamp load pressure plates release perfect in all other brand cars......The Z hydrollic system sucks! WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH SPRING BREAKAGE? The Z32 is about an average of 10 years old and the seals on the hydrollic's are weak and are going out all the time now with stock clutches. With all new hydrollic's most Z's release the heavy RPS max fine when you get all the air out of the sytem, But a few are on the boarder and had a hard time releasing. ALL MY HYDRAULICS WERE NEW If you test the RPS max pressure plate on a release testing machine they all release in 3/8's of a stroke just like the factory clutch. The problem is the Z's thin firewall flexes and weak hydrollic parts will not always move the clutch fork 3/8's of an inch to release a heavy pressure plate. I worked with RPS on this problem because the RPS MAX clutch was the only clutch I found that would hold high power with a single disc. We came up with a slave with a smaller bore size that would release the clutch more with the same stroke. It worked well. THEY WORKED SO WELL RPS HAD TO REPLACE A ZILLION OF THEM FOR FREE-THEY WERE CHEAP AND DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN FURNISHED WITH THAT CLUTCH IN THE FIRST PLACE. AND A CHEESY PIECE OF THREADED ROD FOR AN ACTUATOR? I KNOW YOU CAN’T SIT WELL WITH THAT. THESE SLAVES are NOT MADE BY RPS. RPS bought these slaves and gave them free to any one having a release problem with the Heavy MAX clutch, and also gave them free to everyone buying a max without changing the price of their clutch. YEAH, BECAUSE THE CLUTCH SIMPLY WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT IT,IT’S LIKE BUYING A CAR WITH NO WHEELS, KINDA NECESSARY. This started out great! Then RPS ran everyone that made these slaves out of stock....They started out in steel. MINE WAS NOT STEEL So RPS found another manufacturer that had alot in stock , but they were made out of aluminum.....Well the aluminum was not strong enough and they had a 100% failure rate :(...Keep in mind, this was someone elses product rps was buying and giving away! WITH THEIR PRODUCT, AS PART OF THEIR PRODUCT-SEE WHERE THE COMPLAINTS MIGHT COME IN HERE? When they started failing it was pretty frustrating because we already had a few hundred out there :( RPS steped up to the plate again and bought new steel slaves and gave those away and shipped them free and in quite a number of cases shipped them next day air free. I GOT NEXT MONTH AIR FREE RPS lost tons on money on this and got a bad rap for it . WELL DESERVED This all has to do with the Z having a weak hydrolic system and a thin firewall. THIS ALL HAS TO DO WITH A CLUTCH DISC FAILING AND FAULTY UNDER-ENGINEERED SLAVE CYLINDERS, NOT FIREWALLS. Because of the number of slaves needed every manufacturer ran out of stock of the steel slaves again and RPS could not get slaves out to people that had bad ones for a while. RPS bought any they could, even from little places that charged 4 times the price to try to provide these slaves free to anyone that needed them. RPS also does not make street Disc's....The Pressure plate is the performance part of a street clutch set up, as with all Co's selling performance clutches. It is the heavier clamp load of the pressure plate that keeps the clutch from slipping under more power. RPS was useing an OEM replacement Disc that Nissan sells and as soon as we heard of the first one breaking a spring holder (ASH) I spoke with RPS and they found a MUCH stronger street disc to use with the street set ups. THEN WHY WAS I NOT NOTIFIED OF THE OBVIOUS DEFECTAND GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO UPGRADE, I WOULD HAVE GLADLY PAID FOR IT. RPS Does make there own 6 puck racing disc's and all there pressure plates. WOULD’NT WASTE MY MONEY ON IT RPS has given free replacement Disc's to the handfull of people that have had the defective OEM street disc's. I SURE WAS’NT ONE OF THAT HANDFULL I have seen tons of failures over the years with every brand clutch out thier and I have never seem any other clutch Co Stand behind what they sell so well.I am sure that RPS would have gladly given you a new disc at the show if they would have had one there. NO, THE GUY JUST SHRUGGED HIS SHOULDERS AND WALKED AWAY, TOTALLY INDIFFERENT I am truely sorry for your misfortune 500 miles away from home....But I do not know what could have been done for you at the show over the weekend. I also heard about the content of your email and I do not blame RPS for not responding. WHY NOT? I hope that sheads a little light on the other side.
